Walt Disney Productions, also referred to as Walt Disney Pictures, is an American movie production company and studio and represents the film production arm of The Walt Disney Company. Walt Disney Productions is known for their family-friendly film projects as well as a successful line of animated movie projects, many of which are based on well-known childrens' stories, fables and folklore. Disney was originally founded as animation studio by brothers Walt and Roy O. Disney on October 16th, 1923. It was originally called Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio.
