Thor: Ragnarok is an American feature film of the superhero fantasy and action genres. It is the third installment in the Thor film series and the seventeenth feature to take place within the continuity of the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe (not counting television projects). The movie was directed by Taika Waititi with a screenplay written by Eric Pearson based on a story treatment by Pearson, Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost. It was produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios and premiered theatrically in the United States on November 3rd, 2017. Actor Chris Hemsworth returns in the lead role of Thor Odinson, marking his sixth appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie co-stars Cate Blanchett as the villainess, Hela, with Mark Ruffalo as everyone's favorite green power-house, The Hulk, along with Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, and Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster.
