Fontaine ends up on the wrong end of a handgun wielded by Isaac's lieutenants and is shot and killed... or so he thinks. Fontaine awakens in his house and goes through his regular morning routine, until he meets back up with Slick Charles and a prostitute named Yo Yo, who both know that he was shot and killed.
Fontaine, Slick Charlie and Yo Yo begin viewing the world through a different lens now, and they observe strange behavior amongst local black people and their relationship to certain products such fried chicken, hair products, and malt liquor.
Collectively, the three soon learn about an underground laboratory run by powerful white men who are cloning black people in The Glen for purposes of maintaining a class warfare status quo. Fontaine is killed again, and replaced with another clone.
Slick Charlie comes up with a plan to fake Fontaine's death a third time so that he can infiltrate the facility. They conspire with Isaac and Slick Charlie unites all the gangs to lead a parade to the secret entranceway to the laboratory system; the egress of which is by way of a secret elevator secured inside of a bodega. Fontaine goes head to head with the progenitor of his cloned line..
