Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby is an American feature film of the sports comedy genre. It was directed by Adam McKay with a script written by McKay and Will Ferrell, who is also the star of the film in the titular role of NASCAR race car driver Ricky Bobby. The film was produced by Columbia Pictures, Relativity Media and Apatow Productions and premiered theatrically in the United States on August 4th, 2006. The premise of the film revolves around a pit crew mechanic named Ricky Bobby who has the opportunity to become a professional race car driver. Ricky's career shoots him into super-stardom and he becomes a world famous racer. However, with great success also comes great hardship, as his meteoric rise to fame and power costs him his wife, and very nearly his best friend. Remember, if you ain't first, you're last!
