Surrogates is an American independent feature film of the science fiction and action genres. It is based on the comic book series The Surrogates by writer Robert Venditti and artist Brett Weldele, which was published by Top Shelf Productions from 2005 to 2006. The film was directed by Jonathan Mostow with a screenplay written by Michael Ferris and John Brancato. It was presented by Touchstone Pictures and produced by Mandeville Films. It premiered theatrically in the United States on September 25th, 2009.
