The Canary Islands are an island chain, or archipelago, and part of the European Union and one of the territories of Spain. They are located one-hundred miles west of the southern border of Morocco and consist of twelve islands. The capital city of the Canaries is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is located in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Canary Islands were featured in the opening scenes of the 2013 action film, Fast & Furious 6. After scoring millions of dollars in a previous criminal venture, Brian O'Conner and his wife, Mia Toretto settled down in a private villa to raise their newborn son, Jack. Brian's friend and partner, as well as Mia's brother, Dominic Toretto, visited them frequently. On the day that Brian's son was being born, he and Dom still raced across a winding road in Tenerife to get to the hospital in time. Although the two were not in competition with one another at this time, it is worth noting that O'Conner came in first.
