This included shape-shifting, flying, reality alteration and wish fulfillment. When the evil Grand Vizier Jafar took possession of the genie's magic lamp, he commanded him to make him the most powerful sorcerer in the world. At which point, Jafar turned himself into a giant cobra as a showy display of power.
