- Son of Godzilla (1967) redirects to this page.
- The original Japanese title for this film is Kaijū-tō no Kessen Gojira no Musuko (怪獣島の決戦 ゴジラの息子), which translates to Monster Island's Decisive Battle: Godzilla's Son.
- Although this is the eighth film in the original Toho series, it is actually the ninth Godzilla film to be released theatrically if one includes the Americanized 1956 film Godzilla, King of the Monsters, which was actually just a re-edited version of Gojira with new footage.
- Son of Godzilla was not released in the United States. It premiered on U.S. television in 1969 with English dubbed voice casting. [2]
- Actress Beverly Maeda is credited as Bibari Maeda in this film.
- This is the first appearance of Minira, who is the "Son of Godzilla". In American releases of the film he is called Minya. He appears next in Destroy All Monsters, which also happens to be the final appearance of the character chronologically as that film takes place in the near future.
- This is the second and final film work for actor Seiji Onaka.
