Singin' in the Rain is an American musical film with elements of comedy and romance. It was directed by Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly, the latter of whom also stars in the film as Don Lockwood. The story was written by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. It was produced by MGM and released theatrically on April 11th, 1952. The film is considered a hallmark for Gene Kelly and has endured as one of the most popular and beloved musicals of all time.
