Saw VI is an American horror film of the slasher subgenre. It is sometimes categorized as being part of the "torture porn" movement of the mid-2000s. It is the sixth installment in the popular Saw film series and was directed by Kevin Greutert with a script written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. It was produced by Twisted Pictures and released theatrically in the United States on October 2nd, 2009. Franchise regulars Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor and Shawnee Smith all return to reprise their respective roles as John Kramer, Hoffman, and Amanda.
