The Saint is an American feature film of the action and crime thriller genres. It was directed by Phillip Noyce with a screenplay written by Jonathan Hensleigh and Wesley Strick based on a story treatment by Hensleigh. The film was presented by Paramount Pictures in association with Rysher Entertainment and produced by Mace Neufeld Productions and the Robert Evans Company. It was released theatrically in the United States on April 4th, 1997. The film stars Val Kilmer as Simon Templar, with Elisabeth Shue as Doctor Emma Russell.

- The Saint is based on characters and concepts by author Leslie Charteris and appeared in a series of novels published beteen 1928 and 1983. The books were adapted into the British television series The Saint, which ran for six seasons on ITV from 1962 to 1969. Future James Bond star Roger Moore starred in the series.
