Sadako vs. Kayako is a Japanese horror film of the supernatural thriller subgenre. It is a crossover film involving the main antagonists from both the Ringu film series and the Ju-on film series. It is the eighth installment in the Ringu series and the ninth installment in the Ju-on, aka The Grudge film series. The movie is directed by Kôji Shiraishi with a screenplay written by Takashi Shimizu. It was produced by Kadokawa Pictures and premiered in Japan on June 18th, 2016. Sadako vs. Kayako stars Mizuki Yamamoto as Yuri Kurahashi with Aimi Satsukawa as her best friend, Natsumi Ueno. The third protagonist in this triumvirate is Tina Tamashiro as Suzuka Takagi. Playing the roles of our featured antagonists is Elly Nanami as Sadako Yamamura, and Runa Endo as Kayako Saeki, with Rintaro Shibamoto as her ghostly son, Toshio Saeki.
