A retail clerk is an individual who works as a clerk in a retail outlet. Their job duties involve maintaining the cash register, ringing up customers, customer service and the packaging of purchases. Some major retail outlets such as Macy's may hire additional staff to work on a seasonal basis during the holidays. This can be tricky as one can never tell when they may find themselves working alongside a self-proclaimed elf from the North Pole or not. There are some perks to doing seasonal work however, such as voluntarily modeling undergarments to horny middle-aged men just to show how they don't leave panty-lines. "You can't even see the lines, can ya, Russ?" This is not to suggest that working as a retail clerk is all fun and games however. It would not be uncommon for a worker to find themselves called in to work when they aren't even supposed to be there. Then there's the additional risk of responsibility one assumes if one of your jackass friends accidentally leaves the coffee maker on all night and the place burns down. Worst case scenario: an attractive retail clerk may bat her eyes at a handsome customer only to find out too late they are actually an evil genie that transforms them into a mannequin. That sucks all day.
