Pootie Tang is an American feature film of the comedy genre. It was written and directed by stand-up comedian Louis C.K., and produced by Paramount Pictures. The movie stars Lance Crouther as the titular Pootie Tang with J.B. Smoove as Trucky, Jennifer Coolidge as Ireenie, Reg E. Cathey as Dirty Dee, Robert Vaughn as Dick Lecter, Wanda Sykes as Biggie Shorty and Chris Rock in the multiple roles of a radio DJ, JB and Pootie Tang's father. The film is a satire of the old blaxploitation films of the 1970s and is derived from material originally presented on The Chris Rock Show comedy sketch series. As with much of Chris Rock's humor, Pootie Tang pokes fun at racial stereotyping and is generally regarded as demeaning towards members of the African American race.
