Mutant Girls Squad is a Japanese indepdenent action/sci-fi film emphasising an extreme hyper-reality with high-octane splatter gore. It was produced by the Toei Company under their label, Sushi Typhoon, and involved three directors in its production. The story was broken into three chapters with Tak Sakaguchi directing the first chapter, "Awakening", Noboru Iguchi directing the second chapter, "Revolution", and Yoshihiro Nishimura directing the finale. The screenplay was written by Jun Tsugita based on a story treatment developed by Noboru Iguchi. The movie premiered at the New York Asian Film Festival on May 22nd, 2010 and was released direct-to-video that same day.
