The Last Chance Garage is a fictional business featured in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre film series. It was a secondary setting used in the 1990 sequel film Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III.
The Last Chance Garage was located in South Texas some distance away from the Sawyer family homestead. It was owned and operated by a man named Alfredo Sawyer. Like most gas stations from this area, it was a dirty crap-pit of filth, grime decay, and desperation. The interior of the garage was decorated with clippings of women in various states of undress.
In 1990, two motorists from Los Angeles, Michelle Shatnell and Ryan McArthur, stopped at the garage to re-fuel and make use of the restroom. Alfredo had a peep-hole drilled between his office and the restroom and used it to spy on Michelle as she was doing her business.
A cowboy hitchhiker named Tex came to the gas station at this time. Although Tex and Alfredo acted as if they were strangers, they were in truth, family. Things got heated between Michelle & Ryan and Alfredo, and the two motorists were forced to leave. Alfredo continued to argue with Tex outside the main office and took a couple of shots at him with his shotgun.
