John Markway is a fictional parapsychologist and one of the main characters from the original 1963 horror film The Haunting. He was played by actor Richard Johnson. Markway was a doctor who was married to a woman named Grace Markway. Doctor Markway took an interest in studying paranormal activity taking place at the haunted mansion known as Hill House. He brought several guests along with him on this experiment, all of whom agreed to spend a night in the house.
