Overview[]

Biography[]

James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes was a former soldier who was presumably killed after falling from a train into the snowy mountains below. He was discovered by the Russians, who turned him into The Winter Soldier, a skilled assassin. During one mission as the Winter Soldier, Bucky killed Maria and Howard Stark, the parents of Tony Stark, who would one day become Iron Man.

Eventually, Bucky was convinced to give up being an assassin upon recovering many of his memories. However, Helmut Zemo was able to trigger something in Bucky's mind which enabled Zemo to control Bucky. The mind control was eventually broken, but Tony Stark discovered the truth surrounding his parents deaths, and attempted to kill Bucky. This meant that a fight would ensue between Iron Man, and Bucky and Captain America. After the fight, Captain America took Bucky to Wakanda, the home of Black Panther, where he was cryogenically frozen for a while, before he was awaken in order to help defeat Thanos and the Black Order. Unfortunetly for Bucky, Thanos was able to get his hands on all six of the Infinity Stones, and he used them, with the gauntlet, to wipe out half of the universes population, Bucky included.
