House of Wax is an American feature film of the horror genre, with an emphasis on the psychological thriller subgenre. It is a remake of the 1953 film House of Wax. The movie was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra with a screenplay written by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes based on a story originally developed by Charles S. Belden. The movie was produced by Warner Bros. in association with Village Roadshow Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment. It was released theatrically in the United States on May 6th, 2005.
