The Grudge 2 is an American feature film of the supernatural thriller subgenre of Horror with an emphasis on ghost fiction. It is the second film in The Grudge film series and follows the 2004 film The Grudge. The franchise is based on the Japanese film series Ju-on. This film was directed by Takashi Shimizu with a screenplay written by Stephen Susco. It was presented by Columbia Pictures and produced by Ghost House Pictures in association with Mandate Pictures and Vertigo Entertainment. It premiered theatrically in the United States on October 13th, 2006.
