The Grudge is an American feature film of the supernatural thriller subgenre of Horror. It is a remake of the 2004 feature film The Grudge, which in turn is a remake of the Japanese film Ju-on: The Grudge. The movie was written and directed by Nicolas Pesce based on a story treatment by Pesce and Jeff Buhler. It was produced by Screen Gems, Stage 6 Films, Good Universe, and Ghost House Pictures and was distributed theatrically through Sony Pictures Entertainment. It premiered in the United States on January 3rd, 2020.
