Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla is a Japanese tokusatsu feature film of the Shōwa period. It is the fourteenth installment in the ever-growing Godzilla film series. The movie was written and directed by Jun Fukuda and co-written by Masami Fukushima, Shin'ichi Sekizawa and Hiroyasu Yamamura. It was produced by Toho Company and premiered in Japan on March 21st, 1974. This film pits everyone's favorite daikaiju super-monster Godzilla against an alien robot built in his likeness - Mechagodzilla.
