The Fog is a 1980 supernatural horror film directed by John Carpenter. Written by Carpenter and Halloween collaborator Debra Hill, it was released theatrically in the United States on February 8th, 1980. A remake of the film was released in 2005 directed by Rupert Wainwright. The plot of the film revolves around the Pacific fishing hamlet of Antonio Bay, which is plagued by a series of strange inexplicable phenomena that haunts the town's elders on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Antonio Bay.
