The Fly is an American feature film of the science fiction and horror genres. It was directed and produced by Kurt Neumann with a script written by James Clavell based on a short story treatment written by George Langelaan. The movie was produced by Twentieth Century Fox and released theatrically in the United States on July 16th, 1958. The film stars Al Hedison as Andre Delambre - a scientist whose work takes a traumatic turn, leading him to mutate into the eponymous "Fly". The movie also stars Patricia Owens as Helen Delambre, Herbert Marshall as Inspector Charas and Vincent Price as François Delambre.
