Appearances[]
Departed, The[]
In the 2006 crime drama film The Departed, Irish-American crime boss Frank Costello was secretly an informant for the FBI. This is in keeping with the real world mobster James Joseph "Whitey" Bulger, whom the character of Frank Costello was based on. Costello and his cronies embarked upon a major sale of microprocessors with a Chinese cartel. The police raided the site and everything erupted into gunfire. As Costello attempted to escape, he ran into one of his trusted undercover agents, Colin Sullivan. When Costello confessed to being an informant for the Feds, Sullivan, feeling betrayed, shot him dead.
Red Dragon[]
In the 2002 adaptation of the Thomas Harris novel Red Dragon, Jack Crawford is the head of Behavioral Sciences for the FBI. Profiler Will Graham captures cannibal killer Hannibal Lecter, but at great cost to himself, forcing him into retirement. Years later, Crawford cajoles Will into coming back to the agency to help them find the "Tooth Fairy" killer, Francis Dolarhyde.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The (2003)[]
In the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with members of the Travis County Sheriff's Department, made a gruesome discovery on August 19th, 1973. The bodies of several victims were discovered at the Hewitt residence in Fuller, Texas.
