
Eyes of a Stranger is an American feature film of the horror and thriller genres, which closely approaches the realm of the slasher subgenre. It was directed by Ken Wiederhorn with a script written by Eric L. Bloom and Ron Kurz. The movie was produced by Georgetown Productions, Inc. and distributed for wide release through Warner Bros. in the United States on March 27th, 1981.
The premise of the film involves a serial rapist and murderer named Stanley Herbert who stalks the streets of Miami, Florida with a semi-transparent fright mask in search of new victims. Newscaster Jane Harris grows suspicious of her mysterious neighbor's actions and begins keeping a close eye on him. Meanwhile, Jane's teenage sister, Tracy, who is deaf, dumb and blind, becomes the killer's next intended target.
Eyes of a Stranger stars former Love Boat actress Lauren Tewes in the role of feminist newscaster Jane Harris. Jennifer Jason Leigh, in one of her very first film roles, plays the part of Jane's blind sister Tracy Harris. John DiSanti plays the part of serial rapist, Stanley Herbert. Other cast members included Peter DuPre as David, Gwen Lewis as Debbie Ormsley, Kitty Lunn as Annette and Timothy Hawkins as Jeff.
