
National Lampoon's European Vacation, or simply European Vacation is an American feature film of the comedy genre. It was directed by Amy Heckerling with a script being written by John Hughes and Robert Klane. The film was produced by Warner Bros. and was released in the United States on July 26, 1985. It was the second film in the "Lampoon's Vacation" series, and was followed up by Christmas Vacation, 4 years later. It stars Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Dana Hill and Jason Lively.
Plot[]
Clark (Chevy Chase) and his family go on a game show called "Pig in a Poke" where they win a trip to Europe's countries, England, Germany, Paris, Rome and Italy. They stay at a hotel in London, while the younger sister Audrey (Dana Hill) is missing her boyfriend, Jack (William Zabka). At one point Clark and Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo) confuse other people as each other. While driving through London, Clark accidentally knocks down 3 kind British men. At Stonehenge, the family also knock down the stones like dominoes. Then the family visits The Eiffel Tower, where Rusty (Jason Lively) meets a cute girl and Clark throws Rusty's ugly hat and a weenie dog mistakes it as a frisbee and jumps off the tower and into a pond safely. In Germany, the family accidentally mistake an old couple for the relatives. Also at Germany, Clark goes on a stage performance and shortly after is threatened to be hanged. In Rome, the whole family gets in a fight until Ellen is kidnapped by an Italian thief (Victor Lanoux) and is rescued by Clark. On the flight to America, Clark accidentally knocks down the Statue of Liberty's torch upside down
