Lady Esme Hammond is a fictional socialite featured in the "Universal Monsters" film series by Universal Pictures. Played by actress Hedda Hopper, she appeared in the 1936 sequel Dracula's Daughter.
Biography[]
Esme Hammond was a wealthy socialite who lived in London, England in the mid-1930s. In 1936, she hosted a party and invited notable Londoners such as Doctor Jeffrey Garth and his assistant Janet Blake. Esme purchased a painting from a newly-arrived local artist named Countess Marya Zeleska. She invited Zeleska to the party and engaged in a conversation with her and Jeffrey in which they discussed Garth's profession as a psychiatrist.
