Edge of Tomorrow is an American feature film of the science fiction and action genres. It was directed by Doug Liman with a screenplay written by Christopher MacQuarrie, Jez Butterworth and John Henry Butterworth. It was produced by 3 Arts and Viz Media and presented by Warner Bros. in association with RatPac-Dune Entertainment and Village Roadshow Pictures. It premiered theatrically in the United States on June 6th, 2014. The movie stars Tom Cruise as military officer Major William Cage - an arrogant non-combat officer, who finds himself demoted and pressed into the front lines of an alien invasion. Cage gets caught in a time loop, where he is forced to die over and over again until he meets Sergeant Rita "The Angel of Verdun" Vrataski, played by Emily Blunt, who trains him how to survive and defeat the aliens.
