Bela Lugosi as Dracula.
Dracula is a fictional vampire character and the eponymous antagonist featured in the 1897 novel Dracula by Irish author and playright Bram Stoker. The character is inspired by the historical figure, Vlad III, who was a 15th century Romanian nobleman and ruler of the kingdom of Wallachia. As you might have guessed, the historical Vlad Dracul was not a vampire, though many would argue that he was actually a much more gruesome figure, owing largely to the fact that he was known to impale his victims on metal pikes and line his castle with them. Such legendary accounts earned him the nickname "Vlad the Impaler".
