The Devil Rides Out is a British feature film of the horror genre with an emphasis on the supernatural thriller subgenre. It was directed by Terence Fisher with a screenplay written by Richard Matheson. It is based on the 1934 novel of the same name by author Dennis Wheatley. The movie was produced by Hammer Film Productions & Seven Arts Pictures and released theatrically in the United Kingdom on July 20th, 1968. It was released in the United States through Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation on December 18th, 1968.
