It celebrates the birth of the Christian lord, Jesus Christ, who was born in a manger in the City of David to Mary and Joseph. Christmas is also honored by non-Christians and has come to represent a time where families get together and exchange gifts and pretend to like their neighbor's fruit cake. Modern traditions include the gleeful worship of a mythical being known as Santa Claus, who lives in a toy workshop in the North Pole with an army of diligent elves, making toys for all of the children across the world, which are delivered on Christmas Eve through the conveyance (and convenience) of eight tiny flying reindeer. Then of course, there's the Egg Nog. Ooooh... egg nog. Character Santa Claus is a mythical figure of modern culture whose image is synonymous with the celebration of Christmas. Based on the concepts of Saint Nicholas and Father Christmas, the modern interpretation of Santa Clause (thanks to the Coca Cola Company), presents him as an elderly fat man with white hair and a beard, adorned in a red wool suit with a matching hat, black boots and a big black belt. He lives at the North Pole with his wife, Mrs. Clause, and heads up a toy workshop, which is run by a bevy of small, green-suited elves, who spend the entire year building toys for children across the world. Santa keeps a tally of all of the world's children, and he knows who has been naughty, and who has been nice. If a child is lucky enough to end up on the "Nice" list, he or she will be graced with a gift on Christmas morning. If they're naughty, they might end up with a lump of coal in their stocking. Every year on Christmas Eve, Santa piles all of his toys into a sack and loads them onto his magical sleigh, which is pulled across the heavens courtesy of eight flying reindeer. He climbs down the chimneys of family homes to deposit his wares beneath a Christmas tree and grabs a quick snack, before dashing off again for the next house. Animal Reindeer, also known as caribou in North America, is a species of deer with circumpolar distribution, native to Arctic, Subarctic, tundra, boreal and mountainous regions of northern Europe, Siberia, and North America. Santa Claus has an imaginary team of flying reindeer traditionally held to pull the sleigh of Santa Claus and help him deliver Christmas gifts. The commonly cited names of the reindeer are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. They are based on those used in the 1823 poem "The Night Before Christmas", which is arguably the basis of reindeer's popularity. The enduring popularity of the Christmas song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" has led to Rudolph often joining the list. The Naughty list Miles Finch was an American author of children's books. Great success brought with it great wealth, and he was considered a giant of the industry, despite having dwarfism. It is said that he has more top-selling books than Doctor Seuss. When a New York City publisher of children's books named Walter Hobbs was threatened with dismissal unless he came up with a stellar idea for a new project by Christmas, he consulted with his top writers, Morris and Eugene. Morris and Eugene were stumped to come up with anything of value on such a strict deadline, so instead, they told Walter that they should bring in Miles Finch. Walter was flummoxed that the most creative idea that his two top writers could come up was to hire yet another writer. |

It was produced by RKO Radio Pictures and premiered in New York City, New York on December 20th, 1946. It's a Wonderful Life stars Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey, Donna Reed as Mary Hatch, Lionel Barrymore as that old bastard, Mister Potter, Thomas Mitchell as Uncle Billy, and Henry Travers as the wingless Angel, Clarence. Character Scott Calvin is a divorced 38-year-old advertising executive, who is also a father to his son Charlie. Charlie's mother, Laura, is now married to psychiatrist Neil Miller. After Scott reads "A Visit from St. Nicholas" to Charlie on Christmas Eve, he and Charlie are awakened that night by sounds on the roof. After confronting a man on the roof, who inadvertently falls off when Scott startles him, then vanishes leaving his Santa Claus outfit behind, they discover eight reindeer on the roof and Charlie convinces Scott to put on the suit and finish Santa's work for him. As the morning comes, the reindeer return to the North Pole to Santa's Workshop, where the head elf Bernard explains that, due to a contract written on a card Scott found on Santa, in putting on the suit and entering the sleigh he has accepted the "Santa Clause" and has agreed to the responsibilities of that position. He tells a skeptical Scott that he has eleven months to get his affairs in order before reporting to the workshop at Thanksgiving permanently. Scott awakens in his own bed on Christmas morning and believes the night before having been a dream, but Charlie recounts several events he hadn't told him and leaves him in doubt. After Charlie proudly tells his class that Scott is Santa Claus, Laura and Neil ask Scott to put a stop to this delusional fantasy. Item A Christmas tree is a decorated tree, usually an evergreen conifer such as spruce, pine, or fir or an artificial tree of similar appearance, associated with the celebration of Christmas. The custom of the Christmas tree developed in early modern Germany. The tree was traditionally decorated with edibles such as apples, nuts, or other foods. In the 18th century, it began to be illuminated by candles which were ultimately replaced by Christmas lights after the advent of electrification. Today, there are a wide variety of traditional ornaments, such as garland, tinsel, and candy canes.
