A criminal is one who violates the established laws of the area they are inhabiting. Doing so, usually results in some degree of punishment, which may result in anything from a fine to a lengthy prison sentence, or even exile or execution. Political figures or heads of state who violate international laws are known as war criminals. Criminals who possess extraordinary abilities or make use of fanciful costumes or advanced weaponry are often referred to as super-villains.
