Creature from the Black Lagoon is an American feature film of the science fiction and horror genres. It is the first installment in a series that includes two more sequels. It is succeeded in 1955 by Revenge of the Creature and in 1956 by The Creature Walks Among Us. The movie was directed by Jack Arnold and written by Harry Essex and Arthur A. Ross. It was released theatrically in the United States on March 5th, 1954. The movie stars Richard Carlson as David Reed, Julia Adams as Kay Lawrence, Richard Denning as Mark Williams, Antonio Moreno as Doctor Carl Maia and Nestor Paiva as Lucas.
