Connecticut is a U.S. state located in the New England region of the northeastern United States. Its capital city is Hartford and its largest city is Bridgeport. To the north, Connecticut is bordered by the state of Massachusetts. To the south it is bordered by Long Island Sound. Traveling east will take you into Rhode Island. Don't drive too fast or you'll blow right past it. If you go west however, you'll end up in New York.

Connecticut was the provincial setting of the 1988 Tim Burton comedy film Beetlejuice. In the movie, two yuppies named Adam and Barbara Maitland were driving to their country home in Connecticut, when they swerved off the road to avoid hitting a dog. Both of the Maitlands died in the crash and their ghosts remained behind to haunt the house. Their home was subsequently purchased by the Deetz family, which included Charles Deetz, his second wife Delia and weirdo teenage daughter Lydia. As ghosts, the Maitlands did not want the Deetzes occupying their home. They enlisted the services of a spiritual bio-exorcist entity known as Beetlejuice to terrify them to the point that they would agree to leave. When Beetlejuice's actions proved to be too chaotic however, the Maitlands turned against him and tried to banish him.
