- "Don't ask me about my business, Kay."

Businesspeople is a gender neutral phrase used to describe any individual, male or female, who works in the upper echelons of the business world. This includes corporate officers like CEOs (Chief Executive Officer), COOs (Chief Operating Officer), CFOs (Chief Financial Officer) and CMOs (Chief Meatloaf Officer). Okay, there's probably no such thing as a Chief Meatloaf Officer, but it wouldn't it be rad if there was? Businesspeople may also refer to majority stockholders or board members of a company, as well as any other corporate industry where one is expected to wear a suit and tie, or a neatly pressed pantsuit. This includes department managers, stock traders, mergers and acquisitions people and other mid to upper level management positions.
