Biography[]

Bern Derlin was a male military officer in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, holding the rank of Major. During the Galactic Civil War, he was stationed at Echo Base on the planet Hoth.

When Han Solo inquired about the location of Luke Skywalker at Echo Base, Major Derlin told him that Skywalker may have come in through the South Entrance, but may have forgotten to check in. Han felt that this was unlikely and asked him if the Snowspeeders were ready. Berlin told him that his crew were having trouble adapting them to the planet's frigid temperatures. Han opted to go out looking for him on a Tauntaun. Berlin warned him that the outside temperature was passing too rapidly and that his Tauntaun would freeze before he even made it to the first marker. Han replied, "Then I'll see you in Hell".

Bren Derlin was a survivor at the Battle of Hoth, and continued to serve the Rebel Alliance. He participated in the Battle of Endor a few years later as part of the ground assault crew. [3]
