Blade Runner is an American feature film of the science fiction genre. It was directed by Ridley Scott with a screenplay written by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples based on a novel by Philip K. Dick. It was produced by The Ladd Company in association with Sir Run Run Shaw and distributed through Warner Bros. in the United States. It was released theatrically on June 25th, 1982. The film stars Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty, Sean Young as Rachael, Edward James Olmos as Gaff, M. Emmet Walsh as Bryant, Daryl Hannah as Pris, William Sanderson as J.F. Sebastian, Brion James as Leon Kowalski, and Joe Turkel as Doctor Eldon Tyrell.
