The Bingo Maru is the name of a fictional boat featured in the Godzilla film series. It appeared in the 1954 film, Gojira.
The Bingo Maru was a Japanese freighter vessel. In 1954, it sent out on a rescue mission after receiving word from the Japanese Coast Guard about the sinking of another vessel, the Eiko-Maru. The Bingo Maru followed the Eiko' s course in a southward direction, but the crew learned to their ultimate discontent exactly what had happened to the previous ship. They were attacked by the giant sea creature known as Gojira, who set the ship aflame with a gust of atomic breath. The ship went down and all but three men were killed. The three who survived drifted on a piece of debris until they were picked up by another ship and brought to nearby Oto Island. Ultimately however, these men succumbed to their injuries.
