Bill Michaels was a secondary character featured in the Space Odyssey mythos as envisioned by author Arthur C. Clarke. Played by actor Sean Sullivan, he first appeared in the 1968 Stanley Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey. The character also appeared in Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey novel, although the character was named Roy Michaels in the book.

Bill Michaels was a geophysicist and the chief scientist working at Clavius Base on Earth's moon. He worked alongside his colleague Ralph Halvorsen and was also a contemporary of National Council on Astronautics chairman Heywood R. Floyd.
