Overview[]
Axel Foley was a police detective working out of Detroit, Michigan. He was close friends with a man named Mikey Tandino, who had a criminal past and was involved in an operation involving stolen bearer bonds. After Tandino was killed by some mobsters, Foley tried to investigate the matter, but his boss, Inspector Douglas Todd, refused to let him work on the case. Foley's next course of action was to take some extended vacation time, during which, he traveled to Beverly Hills to pursue the matter on his own, against the wishes of the Detroit Police Department. This led Foley into a tenous working relationship with a by-the-book detective named Sergeant Taggart, and his eager junior partner, Detective Billy Rosewood. [1]
