The axe, or ax, is an implement that has been used for millennia to shape, split and cut wood, harvest timber, as a weapon and a ceremonial or heraldic symbol. The axe has many forms and specialized uses but generally consists of an axe head with a handle.

• 30 Days of Night: Eben Oleson, the sheriff of Barrow, Alaska, used an axe to kill several vampires that had plagued his town, including a little girl vampire at Steve's General Store as well as his own former friends, Billy Kitka and Carter Davies.

• Children of the Corn: Genesis: A child is seen carrying a hatchet.

• Evil Dead, The: Scott uses an axe to dismember his girlfriend Shelly, who is possessed by a demon.

• Friday the 13th: A New Beginning: Roy Burns buries an axe in Billy's head, then whacks Billy's girlfriend Lana in the chest.

• House, The: Scott "The Butcher" Johansen uses an axe as his trademark while operating as the enforcer of an illegal gambling den.

• Resident Evil: A zombie is seen dragging a fireman's axe across the floor of a laboratory. Alice later uses different fire axe to destroy a Red Queen surveillance camera and to finish off the zombified Spence Parks at the end of the film.
