History[]

Mailbox at 1427 Elm Street.
1427 Elm Street is a street address on Elm Street in the city of Springwood in Ohio. It is located directly across the street from 1428 Elm Street, which was the former home of Nancy Thompson - the first woman to ever defeat the demonic dream entity known as Freddy Krueger. Little is known about this building's pyshical structure other than it seemed slightly smaller than other houses in the neighborhood and had red siding. A welcome mat could be seen outside the front door.
An amnesiac young man known only as "John Doe" lived at 1427 Elm Street in the late 1990s. John suffered from nightmares wherein he dreamt that his house had been whisked away by a giant cyclone. In the dream, Freddy Krueger appeared outside his window riding a broomstick ala Margaret Hamilton's Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. [1]

Notes[]
- 1427 Elm Street appears in dream sequences only in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, which may cast doubt as to its actual existence.
- Geographically, this location would place John as a next door neighbor to Nancy's boyfriend, Glen Lantz from A Nightmare on Elm Street, though the house numbering does not make a lot of sense as Glen lived at 1419 Elm Street.
